Texas Craft Brewers Guild Education Member Committee

As of April 2025, I have served on the Texas Craft Brewers Guild’s (TCBG) Education Member Committee. As part of this committee, I have worked with the rest of the committee to generate ideas to better serve the craft beer scene in the state of Texas and beyond through the lens of highlighting education and academic research in different ways.

Specifically, along with Dr. Nick Flynn and Dr. Dylan Parks, I co-authored the committee’s first industry-focused output titled Characteristics of Fully Developed Brewing Sciences Programs, which conducted a nation-wide review of existing craft brewing academic programs. The project compared the various programs across the country to determine characteristics that properly train students for the modern craft brewing industry.

The publicly available document can be found at this link, but this does not include the per program breakdown that was conducted, which is currently not publicly accessible. This document was published in May 2026, and will undergo annual review by the Education & Workforce Development membership to remain relevant and responsive to the needs of the brewing industry and the opportunities at educational institutions.
